Meth Addiction Recovery Program
Meth is a highly addictive stimulant that can be smoked, snorted, injected, or taken orally. Users may experience acute psychosis and commit acts of extreme violence. If you or a loved one has a problem with meth, it is important to seek help in order to remedy the mental and physical consequences associated with meth abuse and addiction. Meth users are often unable to recognize problems related to their drug use, and as a result, techniques to promote change in the patient’s thinking must be used. While there are currently no pharmacological treatments for meth addiction, antidepressants may be used to help ease depressive symptoms during the detoxification phase of treatment. Treatment programs aim to modify the patient’s thinking, expectations, and behaviors to increase skills in coping with the stresses of life in order to promote long term recovery.
